We often are asked to explain what User Experience Design is to lay persons, clients and others. Sometimes it comes easily and people understand. Sometimes it becomes more difficult because they have a pre-conceived notion or have worked with other related disciplines.
Whitney Hess, in her latest blog post, clearly articulates the practices of a User Experience Designer and challenges us, that if we are not doing these things, then we shouldn’t be calling ourselves User Experience Designers.
I think this list is quite useful to help explain to others just what a User Experience Designer does and will be co-opting this in my practice for my elevator pitch.
