Got a project?
We'd love to hear about it

We’re so excited, we’re giving this away.

In our work with product design and development teams at companies large and small, we’ve learned how to make high-performing teams the rule instead of the exception. We’ve learned how to make innovation a practice instead of a fluke. We wrote the 19 Tenets of Value-Centered Innovation to help you do the same.

Design means business.

Value-Centered Innovation™ (VCI) builds on the best of design thinking, lean and agile methods to innovate products and services with a laser focus on business outcomes.
Across the board, design-led companies have outperformed the S&P by 228% over the last 10 years. But there’s a lot of room to grow -- according to a recent study by InVision, only 12% of companies are receiving as much value as they could be from design for business.

Beyond
user-centered design
User-centered vs. business-centered isn’t either/or. It’s both/and. We’ll help you build a productive, cross-functional delivery team that achieves measurably better outcomes with less effort. You’ll end up with VCI-certified team members who can run their own VCI processes with other projects and teams.
Break down silos
Get business, design, and engineering teams all on the same page, working together toward the same goal to drive value.
Build a repeatable innovation process
Run rapid experiments that convert assumptions into hypotheses that can be tested, to produce optimal results—again and again.
Produce measurable, evidence-based results
Learn an innovation framework that validates great ideas early to move beyond ones that won’t achieve your business objectives.
Learn powerful new skills, with real projects
Your team will get to work on actual problems you’re trying to solve, and learn powerful new skills along the way.

We do lots of work for clients we can't name.
Here are some that we can.

Tangible's innovation curriculum has been a game changer for my organization. By the end of the sessions with James, I walked away with a clear understanding of actionable next steps on how to apply design thinking principles to the way we approach innovation, product development, and most importantly, addressing customer problems.

How it works

Your VCI coaches

In addition to installing innovation programs at some of the world’s largest companies, our coaches are proven thought leaders. James has been an adjunct instructor for Stanford’s d.school undergraduate Capstone program since 2017, and has taught design thinking and value-centered innovation through Stanford’s Continued Education school since 2015. Jen is a design strategist who joined Tangible after 5 years as a Design Lead at Apple, and thrives on helping designers tap into their unlimited capacity to effect change and drive value.

With Value-Centered Innovation, my team can more effectively solve for both unmet customer needs and prioritize business objectives. Focusing on clear customer needs, we’re aligned on our actions and decisions. Testing our assumptions along the way not only yields better outcomes, it also helps us get smarter with every action, driving more value in less time. We’re definitely VCI fans!
